visa for dutch nationals

Have to travel to Bejing (2 days for a wedding )and want to know if Dutch nationals need a visa or is there anything like a visa on arrival?

Hi, as I know, you need to apply for a Chinese tourist visa in advance. In fact, no one can be issued a visa on arrival to China if they are visiting for sightseeing or family visit.

Good news is that from Jan.1 2013, you are able to transit freely without visa to Beijing for 72 hours. That means if you fly from Netherlands to another country via Beijing, you can stay in Beijng for 72 hours at most without visa requirement.

So in case of teh 72 hours transit visa I would need to have a ticket to another country so a 'return ticket' would not be accepted as that??
Maybe a stupid question but still not sure if...
