To wet to travel to China in July/August?

We here it's very wet in China during the summer. My family (2 kids ages 19 and 10) is planning a 2 week vacation to the big cities, Yangze, and Hong Kong the last week of July and first week of August. These are the only dates we can travel. Should we proceed with the trip or cancel it? We can put up rain, just not constantly !

I think it's a good time to travel, summer vacation is always the travel season!
Rain is not the problem at all, the biggest problem is that the time you choose is the hottest period in most cities of China.
Do remember to bring your suntan lotion.

Where are you planning to go? you may take Yunnan and Sichuan into consideration since they have pleasant weather.
