I was hoping to get some advice about my current situation. I am in Hong Kong with my girlfriend a HK national keen to start work in China. I am an Australian national. I applied to do a half year language program and have been waiting patiently in order to get my documents and apply for the Z visa that I have heard on old authority is the right visa for people studying less than a year. Now I am in Hong Kong I have one entry into china for 30 days and I am desperate to get into country. Here are my questions....
1. Is it possible that the university has pocketed my processing fee and is refusing to let me know that they have not accepted me. Although I thought for a non award program they would want people to study.
2. Should I start finding another school or private academy and try again with them...
3. Should I look for work, at this point I don't care what I do. And if so would I have to go back to Hong Kong to do the visa process
I have a masters degree and I think that should allow me to work, or so I have heard
Please help me with some suggestions please

1. It's possible. have you tried calling them to check the status of your application?
2. If you don't get a response from them, start looking elsewhere.
3. Trying to find "any" job will be fruitless, because in order to get a Z visa, you have to possess a skill that Chinese born people don't have. You may have better luck in English teaching.
M.A degree doesn't automatically give you a work permit.

Hi,
this is all no problem and there are easy solutions. I don't want to write a long reply if you have solved this already. If not, then please reply to me with your email add or phone number and I will call you from China. I am American and have lived in China for 12 years.
Tony
