There is an old saying in China, 男女授受不亲(nán nǚ shòu shòu bù qīn), which means “men and women should maintain a proper distance from each other”. But in a hard seat cabin of a train, especailly at night when people feel so uncomfortable and sleepy, the moral standards don’t work any more.

don't you think this saying "男女授受不亲" make any sense in modern China.

It's a nightmare to sleep on the hard seat, especially for those who take long time journey.
