Hello everyone.
I will have to raise this topic one more time because I am totally lost trying to figure out what is the best solution of my situation.
So what do we have here? I am a student of applied and computational linguistics graduating this year and I wanna get a post-graduate degree (probably not in a field of linguistics, but...eh...let's say, economics) in China. The problem is that in order to be enrolled to any post-graduate program, one needs to have at least HSK 5 (the most common though is HSK 6).
Unfortunately I'm studying German as the third language and had a very introductory course of Chinese, so nothing associated with HSK 5 has happened in my life yet.
Thus there should be HSK preparation course, say for a year. I've checked several sites like CUCAS, but not 100% sure in the reliability and exhaustiveness of the information provided. What's presented there are numerous schools in Beijing, the University in Wuhan and some other. Sure universities are more preferable.
Another detaiI to consider with is that I am a bit limited in a financial extend what excludes Beijing. Btw, I've been to Qingdao 2 years ago and I liked the city a lot - BUT seems like there are no special year HSK trainings. Though they have just rhe Chinese courses (20 h/week) and 2 week HSK preparation course. I wonder if that could be a solution... Or probably not. Wuhan, on the other hand, seems to be warm and comfortable place to spend at least a year in. Or may be there are lot of other places I don't know about?
I would be really grateful for any real story of your year course.

GUEST18180 Hi,

I would recommend enrolling on a university course for a year. Xiamen University 厦大 would be an excellent choice. If you have a degree in applied linguistics you could teach English to supplement your income - or if you are a non-native speaker, you may be able to teach courses related to linguistics (if you are graduating with an MA)

Reaching HSK level 5 in one year seems quite ambitious though. For example, if you had HSK 4 you could read an MA in Chinese at Leiden Uni, but they would send you to Beijing to study for a year to reach HSK 5 - you would then return to write your thesis (in Chinese). The guys at Leiden know their stuff.

Anyway, if you can do it in a year much respect due
