I was convicted in hong kong for using false instrument(using false check). Is it still possible for me to get a china visa? How serious is this charge in china? What is the penalty for lying on your visa application if caught in china? How long is the jail sentence?

GUESTFIONA Hi, use false check is serious anyway. Where are you planing to get your Chinese visa? and what type of visa you need? if for tourism or business, it is easy. But if you apply for work, you may required to provide police clearance.

GUEST22110 I am planning to get the visa from china embassy in canada. Are you sure it is easy to get visa with my record? You mean I can also get business visa? That is great news if this is true. Thank you for you reply.

GUEST22110 I told the police in canada about my case. They said that it is not a serious thing here. I won't even be charged. I was stupid to listen to con artist that time. I won't trust anybody like that anymore. I paid dearly for it.

Where are you from? Do you know anybody with this experience? Somebody whom can travel without worry in china. Somebody that has been charged in hong kong? Can I get a pardon in china? Thanks again for your reply. I really appreciate it.

GUESTFIONA Don't worry too much about this. This time is for Chinese visa application, which differs from HK, as well as its visa policy. You can neglect the record when you fill the application form. No one will have time to check it out if you visit China for short time business.

GUEST22110 My brother also has the same record and almost didn't get home in shanghai. He was returning to canada when shanghai custom guard noticed that he has a record in hk. They were about to keep him in shanghai but he got lucky. The plane was about to leave so the custom guard just let him go. I don't want to go through that. I don't want to go to jail in china.
