Does anyone know if this is a legit program? (Study Abroad) | |

| I am looking to spend a year in Beijing and right now I am working with Study Abroad China. Yes I realize that it's way more expensive than it would be to just set everything up myself but there are a few reasons I can't do that and I am willing to pay more if they actually provide the services they say they do. I know that the stress of this is going to be immense. I can't do it all on my own. The pre-departure alone would be almost too much. I can hardly call government offices without getting flustered when they speak English so setting up registration and my visa with no help at all would just be too much of a challenge. I want to go on this trip to challenge myself and grow as a person but I'm a big fan of baby steps. I would love to be able to handle that by the end of my trip but it would be nice to have some help at the start. CSA says they have your dorm all set, pick you up, help with your visa, registration, and that they have an office in Beijing near the campus in case students ever need help. They also say they provide trips. I have signed up for those, and also the tutor, but now I'm not sure. Does anyone know if they are worth it? In the past every time I talk with friends about going somewhere it never happens because people get lazy/distracted so if they actually do plan trips I think it would be worth it. I don't plan to call the staff for every little thing but I need to know if the support is actually there before I pay these people several thousand dollars. If you have heard bad things about the program or have other ideas of how to go about with I am open to hearing them! |
