In other words, if you buy a new car, use it for 5 years and then sell it, how much can you expect to get for it as a percentage of the original cost?

1. It depends on what cars you buy. If you buy a cheap Chinese brand one, it won't hold their value. If you buy a mercedez benz, BMW or Audi, it will definitely hold its value.

2. No doubt, Volkswagen. It's probably the most popular car in China.
