Hi all

I plan to return to China on may way home from the UK (to Australia) towards the end of May but my visa runs our 3 days before I need to leave china.

My double entry chinese visa expires on 21st May and I need to be there for a wedding on 24 and 25 May. So my question is - does the 30 days stay my multiple entry visa entitles me begin when I re-arrive in China (~18tht May) or do I have to be out on no later than the 21st? Ie do I need to apply for a new single entry visa at the London embassy?

I spent three weeks sightseeing in China in April of this year on my way to Japan.

Thanks in advance!

(sorry about the double thread postn, thought I was logged in the first time...)

GUESTY775 Double entry means that you can enter China TWO times. If you didn't get out of China before, you can still use your double entry visa to reenter China. But you should leave China no later than May 21.

Hmm bummer.

It seems tree there are some different opinions on this in the forum after some searching for - http://community.travelchinaguide.com/forum2.asp?page=1&i=65068&keyword=Expire#R440631.

Can anyone confirm whether your 30 days starts on arrival and extends beyond the expiry date or if you have to be out on the expiry date at the latest. Also if the latter is true, does anyone know what the fine would be for overstaying by 5 days? I don't want to get black listed...

Cheers

GUEST09216 I think you'd better ask this question at your local Chinese consulate. Don't risk an overstay, you'll pay a fine and will be blacklisted.

When I asked this exact question at the Los Angeles consulate, I was told that you have to enter before the expiration day and can stay as many days as mentioned on the visa. But rules do change, so head on to your nearest consulate asap.
