can i renew my student x visa in any country chinese embassy?

Im from Singapore and my boyfriend is from Guyana. He is holding a student x visa which will be expiring in August. However, he will be visiting singapore in mid July for about a month. Can he renew his x visa in Singapore if he has the supporting document from his school? Coz he needs it to enter China when the new semester starts.

GUEST5364 I am a bit confused. X visa is only valid for 30 days. When he entered China at first time, he should have applied for a resident permit instead. With this resident permit, he can exit and enter China as he wishes (no visa is needed anymore). Why does he have to renew his visa? If his resident permit is going to expire, he should renew it at local police station when he arrives in China.
