guestDave Can I get a 30 day VISA, without a flight out?

I am looking to stay for 30 days and try and find work in Changsha.
If I find work then I will extend my VISA. If not I will book a flight home.

I have been told I can only get a VISA for 30 days, if I don't have a job. i.e. Work VISA set up. Can I get a 3 month travel VISA?

Thanks!
Dave

GUEST97896 I am afraid that you can't. L visa needs round trip airtickets and hotel reservation bill. If you don't want to buy return flight, you need to provide an invitation letter from authorized Chinese company, organization, individual or foreigners in China.

Are you sure about that? I've visited China 10 times and never had to show a r/t ticket. At the same time, I've never overstayed.

That's the L visa requirement. Invitation letter or roundtrip air tkcket plus hotel reservation bill. Usually, visa can be extended two times at most.

GUEST67116 normally, you will have 30 days visa for tourist purpose, you must either have the return flight or you know someone in China who can write you an invitation letter and provide their resident permit copy.

GUEST56670 Some good advice given here.

I am planning to visit Nanning in 2 weeks and in the process of applying for my multi entrance tourist visa. I have a letter of invite and passport ID copy of my friend I am visiting.
The Embassy here did say I needn't have an outgoing ticket for my application.
Is this correct ?

GUEST90130 You follow the directions of your local Chinese consulate. If they don't require a r/t ticket, then they don't. Many Chinese consulates are now asking to see a r/t ticket for an L visa.
