| I will be arriving in Chongqing on June 1st for a 30 day visit. My fianc?and I have rented a furnished apartment. Supposedly there is a telephone already installed. Question: What are my options for Internet access? I'd like to get something in place quickly. Dial up would be OK particularly if one can get something approaching 57.6 (or at least above 28.8). ADSL or other wide band would, of course, be better if it can be arranged quickly and the price isn't crazy. I'd appreciate any advice. Also ... I hear many things about blocked ports etc. Does commercial VPN seem to be supported? 事先谢谢。 Jim |

| Hello! Adsl is now widely used in Chongqing and almost every city in China. You have many choices of suppliers, including Chongqing Telecome, Chongqing Tietong, CNC Chongqing Branch, etc. Since the competition among these suppliers is fierce, the price is surely not a problem. I'm not sure about the price in Chongqing, but in Xi'an i only need afford 80yuan per month for unlimited using ADSL. 不客气! Dee |
