Shangchuan dao near Taishan

Hi,

I am planning to go to Shangchuandao and perhaps Xiachuandao in September.
Does anyone have any recommendations for places to stay, things to do or avoid?
I`ll be getting there from Guangzhou, so I would also like to know how the best way of getting there. I`ve heard there is a bus from Baiyu Airport to Taishan, but not sure how to go from there.
