Confucius said “Since the age of 15, I have devoted myself to learning; since 30, I have been well established; since 40, I have understood many things and have no longer been confused; since 50, I have known my heaven-sent duty; since 60, I have been able to distinguish right and wrong in other people’s words; and since 70, I have been able to do what I intend freely without breaking the rules.”

What does “well established” mean? It means you have grown up from an immature young man to a mature man. For ordinary people, you should have a stable life, having a family and a stable career. However, it is difficult for the post 80s generation to achieve this goal. Many Chinese young men of the post 80s generation are still single. They don’t have families because they can’t afford to buy apartments. They have to overwork to make more money or seek for promotion. They do their best to grow mature. At the same time, they don’t want to grow mature. They are like those children who put on adults’ masks.

Someone says “people of the post-80s generation already grow old before they enjoy their youth”. They don’t have time to enjoy the best time of their life because they are busy with their survival. When they graduate from colleges, they find that their government never assigns jobs for them. When they find jobs, they find that buying a house becomes a dream (the housing prices are too high). When they attain the age of thirty, they find that they have nothing (no money, no wife and no apartment).....
