Hello all,

I currently work for a Canadian school whose headquarters are established in China. The school wishes for me to work in China for the next three months. I would be paid direct deposit, in Canadian currency, as per usual, and then head back to my homeland.

They are requesting that I apply for a tourist visa. How would this work at customs? Technically I am earning an income in China, but the monies come from the Canadian sector, and I am leaving inside of three months and not declaring residency (they'll hole me up in an apartment for said time). Is a tourist visa fine for this purpose? If not, do I need a work visa?

GUEST21874 I would think you need an F visa, business but not earning in China. You will need an invitation letter from the establishment.

GUEST6544 F visa isn't ok. If you work in China, you should apply for a Z visa. I can't understand why your school refuses to apply for the Z visa. Is it because Z visa is too difficult to get?
