Can z visa be extended with a tourist visa ?

I have read how it is possible to change a tourist visa or L visa to work visa. would the other way work aswell , Can a z visa be extended with a tourist visa ?

GUEST6465 Some agencies claim that they can help the applicants to change L/F to Z. However, I heard that it is impossible after the new regulations came into effect. I am afraid that you need to go back to your country to apply for the Z. Previously, some people can apply at HK but now it's difficult to do it.

If your Z is expired, you might go to the local PSB to apply for a L if you don't have time to leave China.
