S1 visa applying in Beijing

guest83241 Hello, I'd like to ask if it's possible to apply for S visa in Beijing directly. My point is to get tourist visa in my country and apply for S visa in Beijing. My wife got Student visa, so most probably she'll be granted by residence permit in 3-4 weeks once reached Beijing.
Could you please advise if it's possible?

GUEST5533 I think you can change your L to S before your L expires. However, new type visas will be formally issued from Sept.1 according to the new regulations. I don't know what you will get if you apply before Sept.1.
