I am a Canadian and also a UK citizen. My wife is Chinese living in China. We wish to live together in China. Can I get a Resident Visa? I do not need to work. My wife's China ID Card is for Hunan Province but she now works in Guangdong Province. I believe we both have to go together to a PSB office in Guangzhou to get my Permanent Resident Visa. She is scared to go as her ID Card is not correct. What can we do and how would I, and we, do it. Thank you very much. We want to be together!

GUEST6847 David,

It's difficult to apply for the permanent residence permit. According to the requirements, you have to live in PRC for five years (at least 9 months in a year) and then you can apply for it.

I think you may apply for the Q type (family reunion) one and then you can live with your wife.
