Hello, can I get some opinions about our itinerary? We are planning a trip with 3 families to visiting Lijiang for 5 days Oct 18-22. We have 3 little ones ages 6, 5, 4. Is it advisable to visit Shangari-La? Or, just take things easy by hanging out in old town Lijiang, and end the trip with last 2 days in Dali (last day will be flying out around noon)?

hi, i visited Lijiang, Dali and Shangari-La in October 3 years ago. It's a good season to travel in october and hotel price is cheaper. Lijiang is very commericial town at present while Dali isn't. Shangari-La is very beautiful, but because the altitude is above 3000m, so someone will get altitude sickness, especially old person. I didn't see too little child there. And from Lijiang to Shangari-La will take about 4 hours by bus. so i think 3 little ones of 6,5,4 isn't a good idea there.
have a good journey!
