What if the US failed to raise its debt ceiling?

All people are talking that US would have a huge trouble if the Congress failed to raise the debt ceiling. But the US won’t let this happen. The US Senate has agreed to reopen the federal government and extend the debt ceiling into early next year. I am not an economist so that I can’t foresee the results if the US really failed to raise its debt ceiling. Do you have any opinion on this?

US debt has been one of the hottest topics recently. All people are talking that US would have a huge trouble if the Congress failed to raise the debt ceiling. But the US won’t let this happen. The US Senate has agreed to reopen the federal government and extend the debt ceiling into early next year.

I am not an economist so that I can’t foresee the results if the US really failed to raise its debt ceiling. Do you have any opinion on this?
