Oarfish is said to be the longest bony fish in the world. Due to its long snake-like body, it is regarded as the sea dragon or devil in the ocean.

Since it lives in the deep ocean, probably 800 meters below the sea level, it is occasionally caught by humans. A It’s said that they can only be seen or found before or when the earthquake happens. Some scientists explain that the oarfish is scared when the seismic activities occur under the seabed. Then it swims to the surface of the ocean. When it goes ashore, it is found by humans. That’s why it gains another name “earthquake fish”.

I read a report that an oarfish is hooked by a guy in Taiwan this morning. It’s about 5 meters long and weighs more than 60 kilograms. Do you think the oarfish is edible?
