hong kong from china

guest24929 I am currently working in China; teaching at a college in Hubei province. A friend is coming to China and we plan on going to Hong Kong at the end of our 3 week-travels. He flies out from there and I return to Hubei to go back to my job.
Do I need a visa for Hong Kong? I have a z visa and a residency permit from my town here.
My visa says 01 entries; will I have trouble getting back to China?

any advice, appreciated

GUESTJOE Hi, may I know what passport you hold? because people from most countries are exempted from visa to Hong Kong for certain period of time.

GUESTJOE Then it is ok. Canadian passport are exempted from visa to Hong Kong for a stay no more than 90 days. That is right your work Z visa has only single entry, but you have valid residence permit. You can enter with the residence permit without problem because it works as a multiple entry visa within its validity.
