72 hour visa free stay, problems?
Nov 5, 2013 04:54
guest21274 We have a 3 night stopover in Shanghai, in transit from Sydney to London, and a one night stover on the return journey 3 weeks later. We have received advice that if you are staying more than 1 night, it is wise to get a visa. Anyone know why the caution? Anyone had problems? Are there forms to fill in at the airport in Shanghai?

GUEST5689 Why? If you are from one of the 45 countries and have onward air tickets for the third region, you needn't apply for it because you can enjoy 72 hours free transit. One thing you should keep in mind is that some airlines have different ways on calculating the 72 hours. Sometimes 72 hour is calcuated from the scheduled landing and scheduled departure of the flights. Sometimes it is counted when you land at the airport or acquire the temporary transit stamp on your passport for 72 hours free transit.
