Can I give an English and Chinese name on Birth Certificate?
Dec 9, 2013 02:00
guest1984Boris Hello,
My wife is Chinese and I am English. Next year we will be welcoming a new addition to the family.

What I want to know is about the birth certificate and if we will be able to add both an English name and a Chinese name.

The reason for this is, my wife has her family name under her grandmother, who would like her 'family line' to carry on. So far, everywhere I have looked I get mixed answers and would like any help regarding this.

If it can only be one name, then I would prefer to have the English name on the birth certificate.

GUEST89054 I think you should go to the hospital where you plan to give birth to your baby. You will get correct answer there.
