When you dine at the private room, the restaurant usually has the minimum charge (1000 to 3000 RMB according to what room you choose). That sounds unfair. Hangzhou Authorities have regulated that the restaurants that charge customers minimum charge will be fined from 2000 to 10000 RMB.

The restaurants do stop charging minimum charge but they start to require the customers to pay the service charge. Except for the minimum charge, the restaurants also ask the customers to pay for using disinfected dinnerware. Also the customers are not allowed to bring wine or drinks. Some allows the customers to bring wine or drinks but they insist that the customers should pay for the corkage fee.

When you dine at the restaurants in China, have you noticed about the minimum charge? What do you think of it?
