Bringing expensive gifts into China

guest22231 If I bring expensive designer gifts purchased from the UK into China, such as handbags or watches do I need to declare and pay import duty on these?

If I don't declare will they stop me, possibly because of noticing my shopping bags?

GUEST9090 If it is for personal use, I don't think you will be asked for the duty. But it won't work if you bring to many bags.
