I am a Swedish student coming in for August - December of 2014 at Nankai University. 1) What is the best way to fly in, to fly to Beijing and go by bullet train or directly to Tianjin, obviously directly to Tianjin but I can see that the flights are more expensive and doesn't go very often? 2) What are the standards on the dorms of Nankai Uni? 3) Do you need an international drivers license to drive and how is the traffic? 4) How much does the flights cost to go to Shanghai and what airlines are recommended? 5) How is the nightlife for international students in Tianjin? Sorry about all the questions, a lot of things to think about :)

1. There are many high speed trains from Beijing to Tianjin. It takes just around 30 minutes. So flying to Beijing and taking train to Tianjin is better.
2. I have no idea because I didn't study there.
3. Internaional driver license can't be used in China. You have to take exam and get a Chinese driver license. Then you can driver legally in China.
4. Why not search the flight schedules on this website on your own? By the way, there are high speed trains from Tianjin to Shanghai too.
