No matter how rich or poor you are, you have to prepare “Eight Bowls” for the invited people. Eight bowls refer to eight bowls of delicious dishes. Usually, there are two kinds of Eight Bowls: the first refers to four bowls of vegetarian dishes and four bowls of meat dishes; the second refers to eight bowls of meat dishes, such as chicken, meat balls, stewed lamb meat and pork. Have a look at this picture! It snowed heavily. But the snow couldn’t stop locals in Yan’an enjoying Eight Bowls.
