 | hi, i´m leaving in shenzhen i have a F 1 year multi entry visa made in HK . will be finish in june 2014 . in september 2013 i have a daughter with my chinese girlfriend .. yes we are not marry .. we under documents for marry .. can anyone know if i can apply for a Q1 visa. i have the birth certificate with my name and my girfriend name . many thanks in advance |

| GUEST7845 | You can't apply for the Q1 type unless you and your wife register your marriage at local Civil Affairs Bureau. In order to get married, you should provide the single certificate and get it attested by your Ministry of Foreign Affairs and then get authenticated by Chinese embassy in your coutry. Also your birth certificate is required. All these English documents should be translated into Chinese by qualified translation companies and then get them notarized by the notary office in China. Then you can bring your passport, your wife's household registration book, both your birth certificates and style photos (taken at the civil affairs office) to register your marriage. After you acquire the marriage certificate, you can apply for Q1 type for you and your daughter. Your daughter's birth certificate is also a must. However, I heard that some foreigners didn't apply for the Q1 successfully. Instead, they were granted with Q2 type for 3 or 6 months. It's said that whether you can get Q1 type depends on your wife's savings. If she has enough money to support you for your stay in PRC, you will apply for the Q1 type. Any suggestions on how to operate the Q1 into 5 years? Answer: if a certain amount has to be documented: - Does the amount have to be on the account at the point f application, and can be used/removed from the account? - If the wife and child is actualiy financed by me, is there a critical point to avoid at the point of application? - If other family "parent in law" is signing the visa application, is that a critical issue? Big cities will require the same as I told the guy below: How many years you get after your enter China, If your Chinese wife has this amount of money in her account NOT YOURS, this is because your wife is sponsoring you. 60,000 RMB you get 1 year or if she owns a house. 100,000 RMB gets you 2 years. 160,000 RMB gets you 3 years. 200,000 to 300,000 gets you 4 to 5 years.. Yes you can renew if after 5 years.. Now, the fact that she doesn't have a job might only get you 3 or 6 months to a year. Because the PSB will count the child based on the amount of money that is in the bank. So the will divide say for example Y60,000 for 3 people thus += 3 to 6 month visa, again it depends on the cost of living in that city. Oh and you must do this in the city of your wifes Hukou residences., so I hope she has an address there. If not then in any other city it'll be 3 months only automatically, but it's renewable. As far as I know, the parents inlaw can do nothing to help you guys, only allow you to use their address or barrow the money... Do's and Don'ts: DON"T wear street clothes, Adidas or Nike or Hip Hop stuff. Wear NICE business clothes, same for your wife. Do try to speak some Chinese, just basic saying thank you and yes and no..
