5 day trip starting from Shanghai - Where to go?

so I'm currently living in Shanghai since I'm doing a semester abroad at Tongji University.
I will have a 5 day long weekend and can't decide where to go. I will go to Beijing on another 3 day weekend so that's off the list.

I was thinking about Yunnan but really have no clue...

Does anyone have any advice on how to use the 5 days off, so that I can get the best out of it..?

GUEST8845 GUEST13733, it depends on what you prefer. Yunnan is famous for its landscape. Beijing is famed for its historical sites. If I were you, I might spend some time visiting the water towns around Shanghai, such as Zhouzhuang, Tongli or Wuzhen. Suzhou might be an option.
