ABCNY Points: Join Date: Jun 8, 2014 Status: offline	My wife and I will be spending about a week in Shanghai in mid October 2014. We''d like to visit Hangzhou & Suzhou. Instead of doing two separate day trips from Shanghai, do you think there is a benefit of spending the night at either or both places? I'm not sure if there is a benefit to experiencing either city at night and to getting to the sites early in the day, or whether we should just return to Shanghai at night.

I visited Suzhou and Hangzhou last December. I do think it's worth visiting these two places at night. The night view of Shantang Street in Suzhou is amazing. I took a cruise on the Shantang River and had a wonderful experience of the locals' life. If you visited West Lake in Hangzhou at night, I think you will have a totally different experience compared with the night view of the modern Shanghai.

GUEST75122	You need to spend the night in both places. It is well worth it. You forgot to mention Nanjing as well.... 2 days in Suz 2-3 days in HANG...cultural capital of China. 1 day in NAN 2 days in SHANG....
