Anyone free to let me pick their brain about what It's really like living/dating in China?

So I have been traveling (mostly in Latin America) off and on the past 10 years..(I am from Dallas, Tx).

And I have had my fill of tacos....can't do it anymore, I will be going back to Dallas in a few months! I have had my eyes set on China for a very long time, so my plan is to be there by early 2015!

So I have like 100 questions, and google turns up very unhelpful advice/posts in relationship to my situation.

Anyone care to take a little bit of time to chat about some questions? such as...suggest places to try (given the type of person I am). how would someone like me be viewed? (tattoos Spanish looking, light skin...rock-er type)

I in no way look like a Typical American , would this be a unwelcome surprise?
