 | Ok, so I guess I should start by saying that I am 28 years old, college degree, and soon TEFL certificate. I am American and I'm white. I know that sounded like a dating post, but I just wanted the details out there, because they do matter. I am moving to China in mid-July this year (2015) to teach English. I am most likely going to take a university position, I have a few offers, even though the pay is a little less, they provide nice private apartments for free. I am doing this essentially to save money, for a masters degree then doctorate, but also because I just like China. I was there for over a month this past summer on a language study, and I just enjoyed myself. I can only speak very basic Mandarin, but I am still studying to simply make my life easier when I arrive. I know the title says finding a girlfriend to marry, but really I just want to find someone to be happy with. I am no brad pitt, but I am not an ugly guy. I am definitely bigger than most people there, at 6 foot tall, and around 230 lbs, but I am active, and not a slouch. I have visible tattoos but it is nothing crazy. I will keep them covered most of the time, but I don't know how most people there view tattoos. I really can talk to people easily, but I am worried that I will be lonely when I get there. During the summer, I was only there for a month, and I was sightseeing when I wasn't studying so no time for that. I will be living in China for at least 1 year, possibly 2 years, and I will want to find female companionship, and I am NOT just talking about sex. Of course every man would like that, but it really is more about having someone to be close to, I don't want to sound weird being a 28 year old guy, but someone to cuddle with sometimes. I just don't know what parts of the country I would have a better chance in. I am not looking for an easy girl, if she wanted to get in my bed right away, I would NOT like that, I want to work for her, but hopefully not have to work myself to death  I am not married and have no kids, and would like to find someone who might want to start a family someday. I am sure I will be back in the US to finish my masters, but I can see myself living anywhere. I am not overly rich, I live comfortably in the US now, but I need a change. so where should I look into in China. I am not strictly stuck to the major cities. give me some ideas I may not have heard. of course I have heard Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, but what about some others. What other places would an American have a chance at finding, dare I say love.. Chengdu, Wuhan, Xi'an, maybe farther south, somewhere in Hunan. I am not looking for an 18 year old virgin. Sorry to be so straight to the point, but I would have no problem marrying a woman who already had a child, but was divorced. If we get along, then we get along, I am really not a shallow person, and I want to find a woman who would like to one day have a child, because I think half american/ half Chinese kids are really cu |
