Work Visa - Chinese factory
Feb 6, 2015 11:51
guest27149 Hi There,

Im really struggling to get my head around this working visa and i really need some help. I have just set up my own company doing manufacturing and Quality control out of China and i want to move to China to live in the factory to ensure my quality is always to the best standards.

My business visa was rejected - they said i needed a work visa. If the factory i work with apply for a work visa for me, then they will have to pay the government a tax right? Can i invite myself to work in China from a LTD company?

So confused!

GUEST565654 GUEST27149,

If you have set up your own factory in China, you can just apply for a Z type on your own. However, it's very difficult for you to apply on your own because you are not familiar with the procedure. More importantly, you can't speak Chinese.

So I think you may try to find an agency to help you go through this.

To apply for a China work visa, you need to apply for an Employment license in the Labor Bureau and a Z visa Invitation letter from the Bureau of Commerce. Then with them you can apply for a Z visa at the embassy in your country. Within 30 days after coming to China, you can have the Z visa converted to a 2-year residence permit for work (normally it is 1-year long). If you are the legal representative of the company you can get a 2-year visa.
