The usual process is to apply for a birth permission and then to give birth to your baby at a hospital. The next process is to acquire the birth certifcate for your baby. Then you can take the birth certificate to apply for Hukou for your kid.

Since you are unwed, it's impossible for you to acquire the birth permission. However, you may try to find a hospital that can issue the birth certificate without asking the birth permission.

The next step is to decide if you plan to register Hukou for your kid in China. If yes, then you need to visit local police station to learn about the details. According to what I know, social compensation fee is required in some places. DNA test is even required for registering Hukou for your baby.
