Chinese people always think that family is important. That's why they usually live together (parents and kids). I think she wants to say that she now has a new family, her own family.

On the other hand, I think she must be a traditional Chinese girl. Traditional Chinese girls usually believe that they should and will spend all her life with her future husband. Once she leaves her home, she won't be a part of her family anymore. Instead, she joins a new family.

I do not know whether she understands that western people have different cultures. Western guys usually live separately with their parents and feed them on their own. Perhaps, you might ask your son to tell her the differences.

You shouldn't be worried too much. You know, China has developed so fast. Many young Chinese people also live on their own. They have their own apartments. Perhaps, she has the same idea like these girls.
