Change F visa to X visa within China

guest62192 Greetings!
I am just wondering if I can extend my stay here in China and change it to X visa from my current F visa without exiting. The last day of my visa is on October 15, and I was already accepted in the University. They gave me admission papers and JW202. Do I need to go home to process it there or just do it here in China instead? Thank you.

I am afraid you cannot convert F visa to X visa within China. You can consult the local Exit & Entry Division of the Municipal Public Security Bureau though to double check.
