MISSHERRICK Points: Join Date: Oct 27, 2015 Status: offline	Hi, So I am a Brit currently resisding in Shanghai for a year, however I am only here on a 6 months residency permit. I wish to leave China just before my residency permit runs out so I can travel for a month and return. However I am aware the permit would have ran out. I want to leave china beginning of Jan and return end of Feb. Is there anyway I can apply for residency early before it runs out in December and then still be able to leave the country as and when I wish? Help!

GUEST56773	Miss, you can visit local entry and exit management bureau first and consult if you can extend your resident permit. Of course, you need to convince them with a good reason. If they agree, then you can acquire another six months resident permit. If they say no, then you have no choice but get back to your country to apply for a new resident permit.
