According to what I know, the markets are closed during Spring Festival. However, they are usually open during the New Year Holiday (Jan. 1 to 3).

Hi The wholesale markets will open on Jan 2nd and 3rd, 2016
even it is a public holiday.

For the furniture markets , you may to go to Lecong ,Shunde Foshan city . just about one hours from Guangzhou by taxi.
