visa needed for stopover in Beijing originating from Bali to Beijing to Detroit?

guest85139 I will be disembarking a cruise in Bali, Indonesia. We will be flying from Bali to Beijing (12 hour layover) on the way to Detroit, Michigan USA. Do I need a Visa ahead of time for this short stay so I can leave the airport? We will have a confirmed ticket onward from Beijing to Detroit.

Based on your nationality (need to check this on China visa web site) you can get a transit visa for 72 hours on arrival.

GUESTDANIEL Apparently, Indonesia isn't included in the 51 countries whose citizens enjoy 72 hours free transit. However, you can make use of 24 hours free transit applied to all foreigners. For this reason, you needn't apply any type in advance.
