72 visa free question
Feb 25, 2016 14:32
guestAndy Hello,

From what I have read on this website I believe that I do qualify for the visa free scenario but I just want to double check with people that are likely more knowledgeable in this area than myself.

We are arriving in Beijing from the US on the 20th at 4pm and leaving for Japan on the 23rd at 4:30 pm.

From what I saw on this website, the 72-hour visa free system works if you are traveling from one country to China to a different country than the first. In addition, the 72-hour timer starts at MIDNIGHT of the arrival day. Which, for myself, would mean the 72-hours begins as soon as the 21st starts and ends at midnight on the 23rd.

Is this correct, then? Do we qualify for the 72-hour visa or should we make other arrangements?

Thanks!

GUESTHALEY Dear, in Beijing, the strict 72 hours counts from the flight scheduled arrival time, in this case, your transit time in Beijing is actually more than 72 hours, but it just exceeds 30 minutes. I think it’s still possible for you to enjoy the free transit. You’d better contact with Beijing Airport Immigration Inspection and confirm that. Tel: 0086-10-56095400
