Hi, I have a DWI from 2010.
I have to go for two weeks in China for business. I'm also a green card holder living in US. Should I declare my conviction when i apply for a visa or not?
I am reading that a lot of people are checking the 'NO' box and succeeding.
I wont apply in person by the way ,, it will be mailed. not sure if this matters.
any advice is appreciated..
thanks

Hi there! Don’t worry! It won’t be a big problem even if you check the ‘yes” box because it has passed for so long.
By the way, do you apply for Chinese visa in USA? If yes, the consulate general won’t accept any application by mail. You should submit the application in person or entrust someone to do it for you.

The only thing is that I will be travelling for work and I rather not let work know that i have a DWI. Maybe it doesn't matter but I am reading that if you select "no" should be easier than selecting "yes" and explaining. Not sure if the Chinese consulate checks records, maybe someone here can add to this?
Thanks for your help

Well, I think it's ok. You can select No and deny the conviction. DWI is not a very serious charge.
