How to stay longer on a category L visa?

This may be a silly question, is there a way to stay more than 90 days on the category L visa? I wish to stay about 6 months so is it possible to stay for 90 days then cross a border and re-enter the county? With a british passport you get multiple entry rights as standard but not sure how it works

GUEST04154 I think you are referring to the two-year multiple-entry L visa, right? If the allowed stay duration on the paper is 90 days, it's possible to cross the border and re-enter to activate another 90 days.
