US to China, China to Japan , Japan to US...is this a problem in getting a visa?

I am going to China in November. I would like to spend some time in Japan on the return trip so my itinerary would look as such:
US to Beijing
Beijing to Tokyo (maybe about a week in Japan)
Tokyo to US
Would I still be able to get a visa?

GUESTDAVID Hello there! Of course, you are still able to get a visa. If you go Beijing for sightseeing purpose, you can apply for a tourist L visa. As for the proof of transportation arrangement, you can provide the flight ticket from US to Beijing and the flight ticket from Beijing to Japan. So don’t worry!
