Camping in Zhangjiajie

guest42154 Hi everybody! me and my friend are on the hitchhike trip in china now. we were thinking about visiting Zhangjajie in couple of weeks for 4-5 days. our budget is very limited so we thought about living in tents, camping in the park (but of course NO fire), just for sleeping. Do you if it is allowed in the park? Can we easily find some place for a tent ? thanks for your help!

GUESTDAVE Hi there, it is not allowed to camp there. But you can sent up your tent around the local residences under the permit of the owners. That won't be a problem.

GUEST83299 That's not entirely accurate, My Chinese girlfriend searched the internet in Chinese and found at least one incident where another Chinese girl documented her camping trip there.
