change student visa to tourist or work visa without leaving China

guest18104	I am currently in Beijing on a Student Visa and have a residence permit valid until 31july. I really dont want to leave, have found the perfect woman for me and have been enjoying every moment of my time in China. Info about work visa are so confusing. some sources state is superhard, other sources state it is no problem. I have gotten lots of job offers teaching, or edutaining, children but I am not sure they can help with visa-issues. Is it possible to change my student visa into a tourist visa without leaving the country? or changing my student visa to a work visa without leaving the country? any help or advise would be appreciated.

Hello there! It’s possible for you to change student X type to a Tourist L type or work Z type without leaving the country. You can try to do it at the exit and entry administration of the local PSB 7 days earlier before it expires. If you graduate just now and don’t have 2 –year work experience, it’s not easy to get work Z type, so the best choice is to get a tourist L type after student X type expires.

Oh wow GUESTRACHEL , Thanks a million for your reply!
I actually have 10yrs work experience (just not in the field of teaching) as I started university late in my life (am 40yrs now and this is my second bachelors degree) but I think a Tourist visa will be enough for me for now as I am not really sure I am going to do any work.
Are you sure it is possible? When you say "You can try to do it.." it does not give me super confidence.

GUESTRACHEL	Yes, a tourist L type is easy to get after your student X type expires. Just apply for it 7 days earlier prior to the expiry date of student X type.
