Our school - based in the city of Deyang, Sichuan Province, China - has been open for 2 years, and we have already surpassed our initial registration goals. We have been recognised by the Deyang education bureau as the best kindergarten in Deyang, so the person we are looking for must be professional and passionate about education and have a true desire to see their students succeed. You will be joining four other foreign teaching staff, including an American vice-principal. At this crucial stage of the school's growth, you will have a very strong impact on it's future development and success, and your input will directly reflect in the school over the coming years. The team is full of life so any new person must be able to add to this positive ethos we have and bring western education experience to the table. The school focuses on using the Reggio Emillia approach, using the children's interests as a way to provoke thought, and encourage a student-lead learning environment. Responsibilities As an ESL teacher, you will visit classes in our bilingual department, delivering lessons to children aged 0 – 6. You will have no more than 15 hours face-to-face teaching time per week (30 minute lessons, although you may be encouraged to spend time engaging with children during outdoor playtime, and during free exploration in the classroom). You will also be responsible for preparing your own lessons, and will have Chinese teaching assistants to help you during each lesson. Salary •8,000 RMB (per month) •A fully furnished apartment (up to 1,500 RMB per month) •Visa costs paid for •Yearly bonus of 10,000 RMB (paid after contract completion) •A personal assistant to overcome any barriers created by language in day to day life •An English speaking work environment Requirements •MUST have a bachelor’s degree (preferably in an Education/Language related subject, but not required) •At least 1 year of experience working with similar age groups. •Experience teaching children with English as their second language •A TEFL certificate is preferred but not required •Warm and friendly attitude towards young children and a desire to help them develop and grow •Native English speaker from Australia, America, Canada, the UK or New Zealand This is a perfect opportunity to discover a different way of thinking by immersing yourself into a whole new culture.
