Will my China-born, dual passport holding daughter have trouble leaving China?
Aug 30, 2016 04:51
guest28114 My daughter has both a Dutch and Chinese passport. Her Dutch passport does not have a Visa or Entry stamp for China, as she was born here. I'm planning to visit my family in the Netherlands with her.

Will I be stopped at the airport if I use the Dutch passport (the one that is completely 'clean' and has no indication of her being born in, or having entered China, at any point) to leave China?

GUEST40882 Hi, you should go to the local immigration office in China to apply an exit pass for your daughter so that she can leave with the Dutch passport.

GUEST07116 Hey GUEST40882, the problem with that is they will only give that exit pass if they can confirm she is no longer a Chinese Citizen. But I need her to stay a Chinese Citizen if she is to go to school here. I don't want her to lose her Chinese Nationality just because of a vacation...
