Travelling from UK to Shanghai but flight stops in Hong Kong first, can I still get 72 hour transit

guest11231 We are flying from UK to Shanghai, but change planes in Hong Kong and don't leave the airport. We plan to spend 3 days holiday in Shanghai then on to Hong Kong for the rest of the holiday. Will we qualify for the 72 hour free visa?

GUEST40882 Sorry, I'm afraid you do not qualify. You should take a direct flight from UK to Shanghai or change planes in another country before arriving in Shanghai.
