Taking an engagement ring into China

guest14651 I am entering China through Guangzhou and bringing an engagement ring valued over 15,000.00 . Do I have to declare it? If so, can I place a lower value on it such as 3000.00? Will I need to show a receipt from the USA where I bought it to prove the value. What if I don't declare and they catch it at customs?
